Monthly Art Classes in the Spa Studio from May.

Monthly art workshops will start in May at the Kettering Park Hotel and Spa.  It has a very special relaxing vibe there and all are welcome (its not just for members #bonus).

I will be running drop in sessions if you'd like to pop by for coffee and find out what we will be doing.

Workshops Catch Up - What we've been up to.

Autumn was a period of resettling and review after a great Summer on the road. 

Winter is a rejuvenating time for me... learning new crafts and making plans for the future. Booking festivals for Summer 2014 and local workshops up until March 2015.

Adult Art Classes at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa

Adult art classes begin this November.  You will find us in the Spa Studio http://spa-and-fitness.co.uk/locations/kettering/ at Kettering Park Hotel.

The introductory offer sessions will run for 6 weeks on Tuesday morning 10-12 and Wednesday afternoon 12.30-2.30 to learn drawing and painting.

Lurcher Dogs Oil Painting

It's been a while since I got the oils out and am I glad I decided to go to my studio space. Yes its a shed, it can get messy in there, I can leave work out to dry and play my music.

I love the way oils work, smell and look. I love the deep old fashioned colours.

We rescued our lurchers last year and I haven't painted them properly yet. They move so elegantly, like racehorses or ballet dancers. I do take loads of photos them, so I trawled through the IG feed and found these two images.

I quickly sketched out the shapes yesterday and today I worked in the colours, whilst listening to Joanna Newsom and Kate Rusby.

Firstly, I quickly got the background in. Then I laid in blocks of colour and toned these. Finally, I ended up getting my fingers in the paint.
